Neel Dhorajiwala, professionally known as Dwala, is a highly accomplished Composer, Producer, and Educator with over 20 years of experience in the music and film industry. Renowned for his versatility, Dwala has worked on over 150 music releases with 60 different artists, showcasing his ability to transcend genres.

 

His kaleidoscopic career has led him to collaborate with a diverse array of musicians worldwide. From working with Afrobeat artists in Lagos, Nigeria, to Jazz collaborations with Abram Wilson in Paris, France, Dwala's global footprint is impressive. He has also produced music for internationally acclaimed Caribbean artists such as Kes, Beenie Man, Popcaan, Sizzla, Bunji Garlin, Freetown Collective, and J Perry, as well as UK legends like Gilles Peterson, Phil Asher, Roy The Roach, and Jazzie B (Soul II Soul).

 

As a Music Composer and Sound Designer, Dwala has produced work for a host of prestigious clients including Apple Music, Beats1 Radio, Nickelodeon, BBC, MTV, The Boiler Room, Sony, Nintendo, and Puma. His audio post-production work on award-winning Hollywood movies like "Casino Royale" and "Mamma Mia!" has solidified his reputation across multiple audio disciplines.

 

With his Indian and African heritage, London upbringing, and Caribbean living, Dwala seamlessly blends his unique cultural influences into his music.  His role as Music Producer for Kes The Band demonstrates this unique fusion, contributing to classic hits like "Savannah Grass”, "Like It Like This" (with Patrice Roberts), as well as recent hits "Liki Tiki" (with Michael Brun & J. Perry), and “Jolene".

 

Though highly proficient in a number of genres, Dwala has found a special affinity for Soca, Dancehall, and Caribbean music, amassing over 34 million streams on Spotify. His dedication to these genres has cemented his place in the Caribbean music scene.

 

Dwala's recent album with Trinidadian artist Coutain titled "1996," epitomises the culmination of a two-decade career with this opus work. Released via his imprint Form & Order, the album saw unprecedented success, with all 16 tracks debuting in the Apple Music Top 100 for Trinidad & Tobago. This year also saw Dwala lending his production skills to Kes album "Man With No Door", released through Ineffable Records.  Three years in the making, MWND continues to push the boundaries of Caribbean music garnering tens of millions of streams globally.

 

Despite his impressive career, Dwala remains committed to learning, creating, and evolving as a musician. With an ever-increasing output of high-quality music, he continues to traverse the musical landscape without boundaries, transporting listeners to Caribbean shores and beyond.
